First Pumpkin Carving

Yesterday we carved our first pumpkin with Leila. Last year she was too young and it was enough to get her into her costume and smile for Halloween. She helped Daddy but didn't like to touch the gooey insides of the pumpkin. According to her it was "Gross and sick," but this morning she woke up asking about her "Punkin." I love making new memories with our munchkin.

Getting ready for baby #2

I am officially on maternity leave! Yay! Last weekend I started to get some things ready for the mystery baby. I washed some neutral clothes and blankets, washed the car seat, and packed the diaper bag full of goodies. Leila knows there is a "baby" in my tummy, and will give it kisses but I know she's really doesn't understand what is going to happen in the next month. I know she will be a great big sister, but it will be intresting to see how she shares Mommy and Daddy with the new baby. I am 36 weeks and feeling good. I saw the doctor on Tuesday and am 1 cm dialated. Hopefully right on track to deliver before my due date of Thanksgiving Day.

After I washed the car seat, Leila grabbed her baby and told her it was time to go bye bye in her seat. We can't wait to find out what we are having!

Pumpkin Patch 2011 Fun!

We took our 2nd Annual trip to Santa Barbara's Pumpkin Patch this last weekend and had a great time visiting family. The weather was beautiful, and the kids had a great time playing together. Leila enjoyed jumping in the hay, running around the pumpkins, and getting lost in the corn maze. We watched Cousin Adam play football, played at the park by the beach, and stuck our toes in the water. Our little champ tolerated the 6-7 hour car ride well, making it a very enjoyable weekend for everyone.

Thanks to Uncle Jon and Aunt Kristin for hosting such a great weekend!

A Fair Day

We took Leila to the Kingman Fair today to see some of the animals. We didn't stay very long, but saw the rabbits, turkey's, goats, sheep, horses, cows, and pigs. She liked the petting zoo, and loved riding her pony named "Oreo." When it stopped she said "Yee haw, more horsey again."

I think when she gets older she may work at a zoo, circus, or be in the FFA. She loves animals.

Our Big 2 Year Old!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our little girl! We had a great weekend celebrating Leila's birthday with our family. She has always loved the Backyardigans cartoon, and since the Pablo cake looked easy to make, I decided on this theme. Thanks to my mother in law, we got all our baking done on Friday. By the end of the day, I was exhausted and the party wasn't until the next day!

The Dessert Table

Auntie Alison, Uncle Richard and the kids drove in Friday night. Leila stayed up late to play with her cousins. Gram-Mimi and Auntie Abby came late Friday night after Auntie Abby flew down from San Francisco. We were so glad everyone made it safely. Grandpa Tim came for the party Saturday. It was so nice for him to make the long turn around trip! Papou and Yai Yai, Auntie Angie, Uncle Pete, Zoe and Alyssa made the short drive in town to celebrate. Such a fun day!

Special visit from Grandpa Tim.

We bought her a Crayola easel that converts to a desk. She loves to sit and color like a real artist.

Forget the dolls, we have a little softball tomboy :)

Auntie Angie and Uncle Pete got her started early with her first softball glove, bat, and ball. She loves playing outside.

Leila enjoyed her day with everyone and played with all her new toys. She even took a late afternoon nap. We always wish we lived closer to everyone, but when we do get together it's always a lot of fun. All that was missing was Auntie Kristin, Uncle Jon, and cousins Elleney, Adam, & Justina. We are excited to see them for Thanksgiving. We just love family!

Daring little girl

I can't believe Leila is almost 2! She is the most happy little girl I have ever met. There isn't a morning she doesn't greet us with the most loving smile, and big "kissy." She says hi to everyone, including the bagger, checker, and produce man at the grocery store and waves goodbye and says she will, "see them morning." She is VERY active, and quite a daring little girl. She loves to rough house with Daddy, play on his jet ski, swim, run, and jump. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep up! I'm excited for it to start cooling down at little, as it's hard to entertain an active child indoors when it's 115 outside. Lots of swimming in the lake, and the pool does wonders in wearing this little one out, who is so full of life!
