Winter Weekend

We escaped the desert and traveled to Big Bear Mountian this weekend. It's always challenging to travel with little ones, but as we do more things, Leila is learning how to sleep somewhere other than her comfy crib. We were invited to stay with 4 families in a 4 bedroom house that they rented. It was quite warm, but when we were leaving to come home it started snowing. This was Leila's first time in the snow. We took her tubing down a couple slopes, and had so much fun with 7 kids. I think this will be a yearly trip for us.

What a great weekend!

F...OOD

Our little girl is such an eater. A very healthy eater I might add. She has always loved food, and will usually eat whatever I throw together for her meals. She eats her breakfast in her highchair then says "up" because she wants to see what's up on your plate. Today she grabbed Daddy's toast and kept eating. I don't think Daddy was very happy....

But we love this smiling face!

Santa Grandma

It is always hard to live away from family, and not see them as often as you'd like. It's especially hard around the holidays! Grandma came for a visit after Christmas and bought Leila her first car. She loves it and continues to play in it and loves being pushed around the house. We had a nice time and wish we could have visits more often!

Things are looking up!

Tis the season to be sick...and what a sick season it's been. I think our household is getting better, and I really hope it's the end of it for the family. I think it started with Adam. He was only sick for a couple days right before Christmas. Then I got it, missed work, and was relieved to take some antibiotics for the brutal sinus bug. Then our little Miss Leila. Kids always seem to get it the worst and these days there isn't much you can do for them if it's not a "Bacterial bug"....just let her cough it out, control the fever, run the humidifier, and be prepared to be up all night until it passes. I am pleased to say, that after a week of minimal sleep, last night she slept through the night and I've been a rested Mommy today. She gets breathing treatments as needed and is slowly returning to that wild little munchkin we all love.

Finally back to napping....in her crib and not on me!

Crazy wild curls

Relaxing watching Backyardigans

I guess it doesn't help to be getting a mouth full of molars as well!

Daddy's new toy

Leila loves going for a ride in the new Razor. She loves the wind in her face. We don't go very fast, and when we stop she fusses that she want's to go faster. We have plenty of trails to ride on here in the desert, and enjoyed playing down by the water on Christmas Eve.

Christmas 2010

We were away last Christmas when Leila was just a baby, so this year it was our turn to stay home. She was so excited when she woke up, and started jumping up and down in her crib. We woke up early and started making breakfast pancakes and cinnamon rolls. She started climbing on her little tykes bus from Santa, checked out the presents under the tree, and loved all her new toys, books, and puzzles. We missed seeing my side of the family, but are so fortunate to have my in laws, sister in law/brother in law's family here in Havasu. We had a wonderful lunch at their house.

Such a great Christmas!
