Happy 4 Months!

Dear Sweet Leila...

Where has time gone? You are growing up so fast every minute of everyday. I know everyone has said that time goes fast, but it seems like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant with you. We are so happy you are a little girl. You are the light of our life, and have brought so much joy into our lives. It's so amazing to watch you master new milestones, and to share in your excitement.
The first few months were a bit of a struggle. You weren't very happy, cried excessively, fought your naps and wanted to nurse all day long. Your new, exhausted, inexperienced Mom and Dad wondered what they were doing wrong, but continued to love you more and more. As with everything, we knew you'd eventually grow past it...and as the weeks went on you became a much easier baby.



You enjoy laughing, smiling, and babbling. You are a very energetic baby and love to kick your legs while playing with your toys. When you want to avoid tummy time, you've mastered rolling onto your back. You have discovered your feet, enjoy zerberts on your tummy, and love looking at yourself in the mirror. You have such an infectious smile that makes everyone around you feel so special. You love to be held, but also enjoy your independence and freedom to kick and play in your bouncy seat. Your car ride behavior is also improving partly due to your new found love for your pacifier. It makes trips around town so much easier. You are starting to teethe and have plenty of drool but are adapting well to the pain. As long as you have your Sophie Giraffe to chew on you are a happy baby. Your Mommy returned to work 2 days a week and you've adjusted well. You take the bottle like a champ, play all day with YiaYia, and wait up for mommy to nurse you to bed. After a long day of work I love coming home to your smile. As far as sleeping goes, you have always been a great sleeper at night. You are now consistently sleeping 7-8 hours, wake up to nurse and then return to your little bed for a couple more hours. I really can't complain. You are a delightful baby and we are so excited to see what your little life holds for you as you grow bigger and bigger.
