We took an overnight trip to Glamis a couple weekends ago. I was worried that she would be overwhelmed by the loud motorcycles, and wind but she loved every minute of it. She loved the sand, the motorcycle helmets, her goggles, and the wind in her hair. She adapted well, making this trip probably one of many.
She is race ready with her helmet and gloves.
She's ready to go on a ride
Loving the sand
I think she is going to be our little daring, adventure girl, just like her daddy. We had a fun trip with our little Leila.

Most of my childhood memories involved playing in our backyard. We played in the mud, the sprinklers, rode bikes, rollerskated, and let our imaginations develop as we grew up. My dad was the historian and documented many hours of video tapes that I love to watch now that I'm older. Watching them takes me back to that carefree childhood. I continue this tradition and video Leila daily so that I won't forget her personality, and so that she will love to look back on her childhood and remember her younger years.
It's gets so hot out here in the sun that I am that dorky Mom that bought her a one piece rash guard to keep the sun off her back. It goes great with the water shoes.
Once it warms up, I'm sure we will be staying under the patio in the shade. If Leila had it her way, we would be playing outside all day. She's my little curious, active, independent girl that we love so much.

Half way to 2
I just realized, our baby isn't such a baby anymore and is turning into a little girl. In a couple short days she will be 18 months, which means she is half way to 2! She is so full of personality, love, and smiles. She says more words, but still babbles quite a bit and is very confident that her language makes sense. She has her impatient moments, and share of tantrums, but continues to bring so much joy to our lives.
Her new friends the Backyardigans.
We love this face, and wild hair.
Covering up her morning bed head
Her new hiding spot. We've moved from the cubboard to the pantry floor.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Family is the Best
We had another great weekend playing in Hemet with my family. Leila enjoyed playing with her cousins, cuddling with her Aunt and Uncle, and dancing with Grandma. We missed Auntie Abby who has been busy working in San Francisco.

Visit with Grandpa, and Great Grandpa
We had a very special visit with my Dad and my Grandpa out in Hemet this last weekend. I have so many great memories with my Grandparents who moved to Hemet when I was young. We used to stay the night, play games, eat popcorn, and drink rootbeer floats. Grandpa is 97 now, and just as sharp as he was when I was young. Leila had a great time exploring her Great Grandpa's backyard, and giggling with her Grandpa. We hope to make visits more often when we come to town!

Attack of Ducks, Pigeons, and Seagulls
We attempted to feed just the ducks and have a nice calm time by the water....well every bird came to enjoy our bread. The pigeons were all over our feet with their long claws, and the seagulls were a bit agressive catching the bread in mid-air. We did find a few ducks to feed. Leila had fun watching, and throwing a few pieces in the water. I think the playground is a little more our style.

Little Mean Boy
Does anyone remember this little boy from the original fisher price little people toys? Yai Yai and Papou have the little farm, and play school from when Adam was little. She loves to plays with these toys.
She even tries to imitate the little mean boy. We call it her mean boy face. Love her!
